Gold
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

The golden colour points to God, who is holy, eternal and perfect. He is in heaven, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no trouble, and no war. There is nothing there to make us sad. God created us, He loves us, and wants us to be with him in heaven.

Black
For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23

But there is a problem: Naturally, we do not live the way God wants us to, disobey God’s commands, and do not love Him. For out of our hearts proceed evil thoughts and deeds. The black heart reminds us of sin. Sin has separated us from God. Sin deserves punishment: Death and separation from God forever. There is nothing we can do about it. Is there still hope?

Red
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Ephesians 1:7

Yes, there is hope. Out of love for us, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth. Jesus, who had no sin, died on the cross and bore our sins, taking away the eternal punishment that we deserve. The red heart represents His blood that was shed for us.

White
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9

The white heart is a symbol for purity. Our sins can be forgiven because Jesus died on the cross for us. If you confess your sins to God and commit your life to Him, He will gladly forgive you. Then you will look as bright white before God as this heart.

Green
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:18

When you receive the Lord Jesus Christ you are like a new born baby who needs to grow. The green heart reminds us of growth in nature. By God’s grace you will mature in faith by regularly reading the Bible, praying to God, and fellowshipping with Christians. You may rejoice in this love and in the grace of God.
